An all original and beautiful example of an Omega "Seachero" Ranchero reference 2990-1 with amazing pumpkin patina that is not often seen, featuring a clean, matte black dial in excellent condition with thick, unpolished case (light wearing marks) and nicely aged originl dauphine hands which have been colour matched in the past. The dial is all original with original luminous.
Produced from 1958 the Ranchero (Meaning 'Rancher' which was a Ranch owner) was only produced for 2 years by Omega and initially was not well received, partly because of bad marketing, and the market it was sold to, and partly because of the name at that time, however this model features "Seamaster" printed on the dial which is extremely uncommon and sought after in this configuration. The 2990-1 "Seachero" may have been made in a smaller window and produced for a specific market, possibly Europe as we have also witnessed Omega Ranchero with double-signed Ranchero/Seamaster made for the German market, again not confirmed, but special to find.
It is now extremely difficult to find original examples of this highly coveted reference especially as beautiful and untouched as this, and they never seem to last long.
It comes paired on a later 71' Clasp 1035 flatlink Omega bracelet with "4" ends and red Omega box, equally valuable.
Don't sleep on this one!
