The Movado M95s are fastly becoming one of the most elusive and interesting brands around.
During the early 40s & 50s Movado were making their own in house M90 and M95 movements describing the latter as combining two movements to make the M95 mechanism. They were housed inside super high quality F.B Francois Borgel Vacuum cases with screwbacks and dust covers comparing in quality to the likes of CB Central Boites.
The sporty yet elegant style is very appealing, especially to vintage sports chronograph lovers. To me it is irresistable.
This example, featuring a vertically brushed dial (very hard to photo to do justice..) is in superb original condition boasting tritium luminous, and those "Serpent" hands against the constrasing baton stick hours & minutes is an attractive touch, adding a lot of character.
The case, whilst used is in very good condition, with some small marks and scratches as you would expect for the age
The added sweetener to this watch is that it was issued to the Norwegian Airforce, and has the rather beautifully elaborate caseback engraving, with the NAF crest; note this was the only engraving of this detail and with no added numbers, it stands out as unique.
The watch has recently undergone a full overhaul and is running perfectly well. Please note the crown was out in the photos and does sit flush to the case.
A 36mm excluding the original bowler crown it wears really well, paired here on a desert suede strap.
The watch came from the original owner in Sweden.
