- 1960 Wittnauer chronograph Ref 242T -
Wittnauer 242T is one of the most pure sports chronograph’s of the 1960’s, and this example features an incredibly uncommon “Solo” dial. This watch was produced during the middle of the space race which grew during the Cold War amongst the watch community. this watch was associated with NASA and was thought to be one of the chronograph tested along with speed master. Regardless of weather this is true or not it is still a notable special example of a 60’s chronograph.
The 38 mm case is the perfect vintage sweet spot. And stands out on the wrist. From the large creamy lume plots and lolly pop styling it ticks all of the watch lovers credentials. We love the purity and simplicity of this Matt black dial with the added highlighted glossy rings on each of the sub dials. An extremely rare chronograph in this configuration, and a stunning example at that.
